I am a young Latina artist who is exploring what my voice is in the world of art. Most of my work are self-portraits that were inspired by the elements in medieval and Renaissance paintings. To empower myself, I draw myself into positions of power or incorporate elements of power. For example using gold leaf, symbols like crowns, animals, coats of arms/ royal symbols, etc. To get that self-empowering look even if I, myself don't feel it sometimes.
